Rigby spent time in Mississippi, where she continued to develop her game in a highly competitive college environment. Her performances overseas saw her earn the NJCAA All-Region award, an honour given to standout players across the National Junior College Athletic Association. The award recognises athletes who consistently perform at a high level throughout the season and are considered among the best players in their region, highlighting both individual quality and overall impact on the pitch.

Reflecting on her experience in the USA, Rigby said: “My time in the US was a really valuable experience for me, both on and off the pitch. Playing college football helped me develop as a player, adapt to a different style of football, and grow in confidence and independence. I learned a lot from being in a new environment, working with different coaches and teammates, and it’s something I’m really grateful for as part of my journey.”

Although she thoroughly enjoyed her time overseas, Rigby is delighted to be back in familiar surroundings and ready to begin the next chapter of her journey at Bolton Wanderers.

“Although I absolutely loved my time in the US, it’s honestly really nice to be back at Bolton. It feels familiar and exciting at the same time, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to come back and continue my journey here.”

Rigby now looks forward to bringing her enhanced experience, confidence, and versatility into the squad as she continues her development with the club.

First Team Manager Tom Cunniff spoke positively about Rigby’s return, saying: “We’re really pleased to welcome Flo back to the club. Going to the US was a brave step for her, and she’s come back having clearly developed both as a player and as a person. Being recognised with an All-Region award shows the level she’s been performing at, and we’re confident she’ll bring that quality, maturity, and hunger back into the group.”

Rigby’s return strengthens the Wanderers squad as the team looks ahead with ambition, boosted by a player who has tested herself abroad and returned ready to make her mark once again.
