Will Forrester has urged the fans to keep playing their part and help the Whites launch a decisive home run.
Wanderers will be watched by a crowd of over 24,000 for Easter Monday’s Community Day fixture against Reading.
And with victory essential for Ian Evatt’s men in their bid to try and close the gap on second-placed Derby County, Forrester knows the importance of the fans’ continued backing.
“I feel like we need the fans right behind us. With four games out of the last six at home they're going to play a massive part,” said the Whites’ defender.
“They have been excellent throughout the whole season, but I think now coming to crunch time they're going to be even more crucial.
“Even if we go 1-0 down, we know that we're good enough to come back and win the game, so I feel like just stick with us right to the end and hopefully we can repay them.”
Wanderers were backed by a sell-out away following for their goalless draw at Stevenage on Friday and the travelling fans have again snapped up all available tickets for next Saturday’s penultimate away fixture at Bristol Rovers.
Ian Evatt’s men aren’t out of the hunt for an automatic promotion place but know they can’t afford to drop many more points if they are to catch the Rams, who have played a game more and don’t return to action until a trip to League One leaders at Portsmouth on Tuesday night.
And Forrester is targeting the kind of run that brought Wanderers eight wins and a draw in nine League One games from the end of September.
“There's lots of football to play,” added the central defender, who helped secure what could still be a valuable clean sheet at Stevenage on his first league start since New Year’s Day.
“A lot can happen in a week in football, as we've seen before. We've just got to perform now for the last six games and hopefully churn out the wins.
“I think we're more than capable of doing it. Earlier this season we went on I don't know how many games unbeaten, so we are more than capable and hopefully we can do it.”
