Important Information For Fans Travelling To Wigan Athletic

fans

We travel to the Brick Community Stadium tomorrow with 4,600 Wanderers fans backing the team. That level of support is massive. It gives the players a lift before they even step off the coach. We want you to bring that noise. We want you to make the atmosphere electric.

We also need you to keep it legal.

Derby days run high on emotion. But there is a distinct line between passionate support and anti-social behaviour. We are asking you to stay on the right side of it. Under the EFL’s ‘Love Football, Protect the Game’ campaign, we remind all travelling fans of the conduct standards expected of you.

The rules are clear:

Pitch Incursions: Entering the field of play is a criminal offence. It leads to arrest and a club ban. Stay in the stands.

Pyrotechnics: Flares and smoke bombs are dangerous to fellow fans and players. If you are caught with them, you may be arrested.

Discrimination: Racism, homophobia, ableism, sexism, and faith-based abuse will not be tolerated.

These actions damage the club's reputation. They cost us money in fines. They distract the players from the job at hand.

We know the vast majority of you are there to sing for the team and enjoy the rivalry.

Arrive early. Searches will be in place. Get behind the lads from the first whistle to the last.
