Chairman Sharon Brittan says Wanderers will do everything possible this summer to maintain the club’s progress and look forward to a bright future.
Sharon talks to the Wanderers’ fans in an in-depth interview FREE on Wanderers TV.
She describes her shared hurt with the supporters following the Whites’ Wembley defeat in the League One play-off final.
And after going so close, the Chairman re-iterates her belief in manager Ian Evatt and Sporting Director Chris Markham to build on two successive play-off places and help Wanderers take the next step.
“Ian has been with us for four years and when we talk about progression we have progressed each season,” Sharon said. “I see on a day-to-day basis how Ian, how Chris, and their teams work and the dynamic between them.
“I see how committed they are and I also see their relationship with the players. I saw (at Wembley) how devastated the players were, and I mean truly devastated, as was Ian, as was Chris, as we all were.
“Our support and belief in Ian and Chris to take us back to where we want to go is unchanged and that's myself and the board and the investors.”
The Whites will look to make tweaks to the formula that has taken them from the foot of League Two to a top-three finish in League One under Evatt since his appointment 12 months after the club was taken over by its current owners.
As custodian, Sharon has pledged to make what changes are required to provide the platform for another crack at League One and to add to the success she wants to deliver for supporters who have again shown their backing by buying over 15,500 season tickets for the 2024/25 campaign.
She added: “I'm doing a root and branch review of the entire business to make sure that we have looked at absolutely every area, any changes that need to be made, and that we have covered everything, so that when we come back in August we are in the best possible position to succeed both on and off the pitch.
“I think we have to keep a perspective and we have to look at last season as a whole. There was incredible disappointment that we didn't get back to the Championship but from my position as Chairman of this football club I am as determined, if not more than ever before, that we will achieve what we want to achieve, and I have to make sure that I give Ian and Chris everything they need to be able to do that.
“I can also assure you I’m more determined for these fans because they deserve it. The support they've given me, they deserve it, and I'm doing everything I can to make sure that we have the best possible chance of that happening.
“I'm as excited now as I've ever been. I love this football club. I'm very driven. I know I have a soft side, but I also have a steely side and I'm absolutely determined that Ian and Chris will have everything they need, and that with their own incredible capabilities and with the financial support (they will have), we will have a very, very strong season.”
