Match Preview | Bradford City v Wanderers (Second Leg)

Wanderers visit the University of Bradford Stadium on Thursday night to contest a Sky Bet League One Play-Off semi-final second leg against Bradford City with a one goal advantage ahead of the 8pm kick-off.

Steven Schumacher’s Whites make the journey across the Pennines to West Yorkshire leading 1-0 on aggregate following Amario Cozier-Duberry's strike which decided Saturday’s home leg at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

Unbeaten in the previous four meetings with Graham Alexander’s Bantams this season, Wanderers will be aiming to confirm their place at Wembley for the Play-Off Final on Sunday 24th May by securing the result that they need in Valley Parade's second leg.

Press Conferences:

Steven Schumacher:

“We approach it exactly the same as what we would do if it was all-square. We try and be positive - as we have done for the rest of the games - try and get on the front foot, try and take the game to Bradford where we can and see if we can come away with a victory.

“That's been our approach all season, so I don't think it needs to change. We will be positive where we can, understand the threat that Bradford are going to pose us – because they have to come out and try and get us under pressure - but try and stay as calm and composed as possible.

"We know that they're going to have moments of pressure and their crowd are going to try and get behind them and make it difficult for us and make that atmosphere intense.

“So, we need to stay as calm as possible, deal with their moments and secure the ball where we can and get back in control of the game."

Bradford City Manager, Graham Alexander:

“We have to win the game. It is as clear as that. We play every match at home with that mindset - we always want to win. We said before the first leg, regardless of the result, it is half-time - that is still the case.

"Defensively, we were strong in the first lef. The game could have gone either way or been a draw.  Bolton did not have lots of chances - we had a similar amount. We have to use the ball better and have more composure while playing at a high tempo.

"The preparation stays the same, it is just a game of football, and the squad has done that hundreds of times in their careers.
