Wanderers' first away fixture of the Sky Bet Championship season will see the Whites visit Loftus Road to face Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon, 3pm kick-off.
Steven Schumacher's Whites, buoyed by their opening day victory over Preston North End at a sold-out Toughsheet Community Stadium last weekend, visit Loftus Road this weekend for a clash in West London.
Goals from Sam Dalby and Thierry Gale proved decisive for Wanderers to secure a 2-1 triumph against the Lilywhites in a North-West derby, with attention now turning to QPR, who also started their campaign with three-points, as Julien Stéphan's Hoops defeated Portsmouth 3-1 away at Fratton Park.
Wanderers' last visit to Loftus Road saw them win 2-1 in March 2019, with Will Buckley and Callum Connolly on target in the capital that day.
Press Conferences:
Steven Schumacher:
"We know going down to QPR is going to be a tough test. It's always a good atmosphere at Loftus Road. They also had a really good win on Saturday away at Portsmouth, so it'll be a big game for us.
"You've got to keep trying to improve. I felt we played really well on Saturday but there were still elements of the game and the performance that allowed the game to become a little bit closer than what it needed to be, so there's loads for us to learn and improve on, and as you say, keep trying to raise the bar, raise the standard, because that's what it's going to require in this league. You have to be at it in every single league game, because for spells of the game when you're not at it, there's quality in the division that can punish you.
"It'll certainly be a good game of football because they play really nice stuff as well. They pass the ball well through the lines, they're really well organised, they've got some good players, in particular at the top end of the pitch. We have to make sure defensively we're really well structured, we've got good pressure and good intensity against the ball if we can. And yes, I'm sure it'll be a decent game, and they'll be up for it as much as we will. As I said, they had a great result away at Portsmouth at the weekend with a big win, so they'll be going into it confident, as we are.”
QPR Head Coach, Julien Stephan:
"Last week was a good test, but it’s only one test. Now we have another one against Bolton.
"I think Bolton will approach with a lot of confidence, and we know how difficult it can be at the beginning of the season to face a team that have just been promoted because they are still on the dynamic of the previous season.
"We play at home and we also play with confidence after pre-season and our first result. It’s always important to build on confidence and trust."
