Wanderers go to Bramall Lane for the first time since February, 2019 as they look to bounce back from a first Championship defeat of the season.
Saturday’s 1-0 home reverse to Lincoln City means the Whites have taken four points from their first three league games – one more than tonight’s opponents Sheffield United.
The Blades have drawn all three of their Championship fixtures, including a draw at Cardiff City last Saturday, and have advanced to round three of the Carabao Cup to give Chris Wilder’s men an unbeaten record so far this term.
United finished mid-table last season and have been hit by more off-field and ownership issues in the opening weeks of the current campaign.
However, they have still been recruiting players ahead of the transfer deadline which falls at 11pm tonight – an hour of so after the end of the game which will see Wanderers try to add to the point they collected at Queens Park Rangers in their opening away game.
Steven Schumacher’s men are in London again this weekend with a trip to Millwall following the first mid-week date of the season.

Steven Schumacher: “It is the first one for us this season where we will have to play a three-game week, so we are looking forward to it.
“We have got two tough away games coming up and we have to make sure that we learn from what has happened (on Saturday and get positive to go again.
“We have not got any time to dwell on it, that is the key. But we have got another huge challenge on Tuesday night now, and the thing we need to focus on is getting ready for that, which is going to be a big test at Sheffield United.”
Chris Wilder: “They beat Preston first game, then drew at QPR which is never an easy place to go and get a result. By all accounts, it was a tight game at the weekend (against Lincoln) and they were disappointed not to get a result.
“We've talked about the energy, enthusiasm and freshness when we've been promoted before and Bolton will bring that, they are a big club back in the division having been away for a number of years.
“They've got a talented manager who will no doubt want to come to Bramall Lane and get a positive result backed by a big away following.”

Wanderers will have midfielder Xavier Simons available for the first time in the Championship after completing his three-match ban for a sending off in the Carabao Cup.
Latest arrival Atsuki Ito could be in the Whites' squad for the first time, with attacking midfielder Ruben Rodrigues continuing to recover from injury.
United are without the injured pair of left-sided player Harrison Burrows and midfielder Femi Seriki through injury.
