Wanderers return to the Toughsheet Community Stadium for their final fixture of the regular season against Luton Town in Sky Bet League One on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off).
Steven Schumacher’s Whites have already assured themselves of a play-off spot ahead of welcoming Jack Wilshere’s team to BL6, following last weekend’s 1-1 draw away at Bradford City and are currently third in the table on 75 points. A win for Wanderers would secure third spot.
Opponents Luton are aiming to extend their own campaign, with the Hatters having won four out of their last five games to climb up to seventh, a point and a place below Stevenage in the race for a top six finish.
Former Wanderers loanee Wilshere was appointed as Luton boss in October 2025 and he has already guided Town to cup-winning success under the Wembley arch, as they defeated Stockport County to lift the Vertu Trophy in April.
The two sides last met in November, when 10-man Wanderers came away from Kenilworth Road with a 1-1 draw.
Press Conferences:
Steven Schumacher:
“My message to the players will be let’s try and win the game and let’s try to finish third, there’s a few teams fighting it out behind us for the last play-off positions, but we want to win the game and focus on ourselves.
“We said the last seven games were all going to be entertaining and I think that’s the way it’s panned out, they are all decent teams who have got good strengths, Luton are no different.
“They are a team who are in really good form and some good momentum building, they’ll come here needing to win so we’ll have to be prepared for that, we need to focus on ourselves and try and do what we can do to try and win the game, which will be our last home game in the league, and try and finish on a high.”
Luton Town Manager, Jack Wilshere:
"No matter what happens, we need to make sure that we take care of our business, which we have done. The players have been excellent at that.
"Of course, the elephant in the room is that we are chasing. The closer you get to that and the less games there are to play, the more you look at results elsewhere.
“But part of that is making sure we are focused and getting our job done because that is all we can control."
