Wanderers' final game before the international break saw them defeated 3-1 away to Derby County at Pride Park in front of the Sky television cameras on Friday night.
Ruben Rodrigues' goal sent Wanderers into a half-time lead, however the hosts responded after the interval through quick-fire strikes from Ryan Nyambe and Jack Robinson before Rhian Brewster rounded off the scoring.
Steven Schumacher made three changes to the side that came away with The Valley as victors on Tuesday night.
Thierry Gale, Ruben Rodrigues and Gaizka Larrazabal all came into the side, replacing Max Lott, Samuel Illing-Junior and Atsuki Ito.
The first clear sight of goal fell to Wanderers as Rodrigues expertly switched the play to Larrazabal on the right who looked up and cut it back to Simons, but his effort was struck over the bar from inside the box.
Wanderers threatened again shortly after from a set-piece. Rodrigues’ corner from the left was whipped to the far post where Forino had slipped his marker but Zetterström was equal to the downward header.
John Eustace's Rams looked to gain some territory in the game with consecutive corners and some gargantuan long throws but Wanderers stood firm whilst having the mainstay of possession.
That patience paid off for Steven Schumacher’s men shortly before the break. Larrazabal again caused problems down the right after excellent hold up play from Dalby and this time, his cut back was dispatched by the onrushing Rodrigues who calmly slotted beyond Zetterström into the bottom right corner.
Wanderers went into the break ahead and possibly will have felt it should have been by more than a one goal advantage.
Within a minute of the second half starting, Derby were level. A low cross from the left hand side made its way to Ryan Nyambe at the back post who prodded home from close range.
With the next attack, the hosts had taken the lead to leave Wanderers shell shocked at the start of the half. Duffy met a cross from the left and guided his header into the path of Robinson who headed downwards and beneath Bonham.
Searching for an equaliser in the East Midlands, Rodrigues twisted and turned on the edge of the box and curled an effort which flashed just past the left-post.
Sam Dalby was then denied by a reaction save from Zetterstrom who kept out the striker's header from Gale's cross.
In added time, Derby scored their third of the game when Brewster won possession from Larrazabal to drive into the box and thump left footed beyond Bonham into the roof of the net as Wanderers were defeated.
