A message to the BWFC Family: Let's make it a season to remember

bolton fans

With the 2025/26 League One campaign about to get underway, the excitement is building for what Bolton Wanderers and our fans can achieve together.

Your fantastic support has always been our greatest strength, creating an atmosphere that inspires the lads, home and away.

Let's continue that passionate backing for Steven Schumacher’s men as we get ready for what promises to be an exciting season.

Your support is crucial and creating a passionate and positive atmosphere at every game gives us the best possible chance of success.

Bolton Wanderers Chairman Sharon Brittain said: “I want to start by thanking you for your fantastic support. Home and away, you are great ambassadors for this club and town. We are all on this journey together, building something special with the clear goal of promotion.

“Your passion is vital, but it’s important we channel it in a way that allows every supporter to enjoy the match safely. Let’s get behind the team and achieve our goal as One Club, One Community, One Town.”

Persistent Standing

Ensuring every single supporter feels safe and able to enjoy the matchday experience is our top priority. A key part of this is being considerate of those around you. We know that in moments of excitement, everyone wants to be on their feet. However, we ask for your co-operation in managing persistent standing in seated areas at the Toughsheet Community Stadium. This is vital for the safety and enjoyment of all fans, particularly children, older supporters and those who cannot stand for long periods, ensuring they have a clear view of the action and that gangways are kept clear. Our stewarding team are there to help and will appreciate your support in this.

Bag Search Policy

To further enhance safety and help make entry to the stadium as smooth as possible for everyone, we are also updating our bag search policy. We ask that supporters try to avoid bringing bags on a match day where possible. If you do need to bring a bag, please ensure it is no larger than A4 size, as all bags are subject to being searched as a condition of entry. For supporters who have medical or dietary requirements that mean you need a larger bag, please email safety.officer@bwfc.co.uk in advance to receive authorisation. Should you arrive with a bag that is too large, it can be left at a designated bag drop facility for collection after the match.

Love Football. Protect The Game.

We are also proud to align with the rest of English football in the ‘Love Football. Protect the Game.’ campaign. This initiative is about protecting the integrity and safety of the game we all love. While the vast majority of our fans are fantastic ambassadors for the club, we must be clear that behaviours which endanger others or spoil the enjoyment of the match, such as the use of pyrotechnics or any form of discriminatory abuse, have no place at our stadium. These actions are against the law and can have serious consequences for both the individuals involved and the club.

One Wanderers

We all have a role to play in making the Toughsheet Community Stadium a safe and welcoming place for everyone. If you see or hear any behaviour that concerns you, please report it. You can speak to your nearest steward in confidence or, alternatively, text the club’s dedicated ‘One Wanderers’ number: 07542 850 902. All reports are treated seriously and help us ensure that matchdays are enjoyable for all supporters.

Sanctions Policy

For complete transparency on ground regulations, our updated Fan Sanction Policy is available for everyone to read. This document was created in consultation with the Bolton Wanderers Supporters’ Trust to outline a clear and fair process.

Your support is what makes Bolton Wanderers Football Club special. Let’s make this season one to remember for all the right reasons, driving the team forward with the noise, passion and respect that defines your football club.
