Wanderers have welcomed nine new scholars to begin their full-time journeys with the Whites.
The youngsters have moved up the Academy ladder to start two-year stints with the Youth Team as they ultimately aim to try and secure a professional contract.
They will combine full-time training with academic studies and join the second-year scholars in the U18 squad under the guidance of Danny Clarke following his appointment as head youth team coach.
The nine newcomers are:
Aidan Mee: Signed at U16 level, previously with Rochdale and Everton. A left-footed attacking player with a great desire to create and score goals.
Josh Duggan: Also signed at U16, previously from Burnley. Returning to his best after a long injury, a left-footed full-back with a great passing range who loves to get forward and join in attacks.
Gabriel Davidson: Goalkeeper and another signed at U16 level, previously with Manchester City and Everton. A very good shot stopper and excellent ball player with both feet.
Asa Littler: Recruited from Bury Schoolboys in November 2023, a powerful striker with a strong physical presence in the final third who loves scoring goals.
Joe Lamb: Recruited in the youth phase (12-16) from Oldham Athletic, a strong physical ball-playing centre-half who played for Wanderers’ U18s on a number of occasions last season.
Na’Im Zuill: Another recruited in the youth phase from Oldham Athletic, a talented left-footed player who can play a number of attacking positions and Bermudan youth international.
Sonny Coyne: Joined the Whites in July 2021 from Fletcher Moss, an attacking player who has real eye for goal who scored in Wanderers’ FA Youth Cup run last season.
Alfie Baxter: An attacking midfielder who loves to create and score goals who has progressed all the way through the academy from the age of seven after starting out at Milnrow Juniors.
Zak Doyle: Joined the club in the youth phase having previously played for Rochdale, a box-to-box midfielder with great energy and desire with and without the ball.
