To honour the 80th anniversary of the Burnden Park Disaster, there will be a wreath laying ceremony and a minute’s silence ahead of our fixture against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
We warmly ask you to join us ahead of kick off as we remember the 33 Bolton Wanderers supporters who lost their lives during an FA Cup sixth-round tie against Stoke City. The darkest day in our club’s history.
Chairman Sharon Brittan will be joined by relatives of Harry Needham, Thomas Roby, and Richard Roby - three of the 33. Former Bolton Wanderers players Peter Reid, Neville Bannister and John McGinlay, and our guests from Stoke City Football Club, Denis Smith and John Ruggiero will also be in attendance.
Supporters wishing to pay their respects are asked to be in their seats by 2:45pm, 15 minutes ahead of kick off.
The wreath laying ceremony will take place, followed by a minute’s silence directly before kick off.
A reminder that we will also be holding a memorial service at Bolton Parish Church on Monday 9th March 2026. Click here to find out more information.
We will always remember the 33.
