Boss Steven Schumacher declared his pride in his players after another thrilling comeback put Wanderers on the brink of the play-offs.
The Whites came back from 3-1 down with 10 men against top-six hopefuls Huddersfield Town to snatch a dramatic point in the 101st minute.
After Jordi Osei-Tutu was sent off for conceding a penalty which saw Town go in front, Johnny Kenny had kick-started the comeback with his fourth goal in as many games 13 minutes from the end of normal time.
And substitute Ibrahim Cissoko then completed the fightback with a stunning equaliser which staved off just a second home league defeat of the season to keep Schumacher’s men third in the table and almost knock Huddersfield out of the play-off race.
“I'm exhausted!” said a delighted Schumacher. “Again, it's another game that's got so many events in it. I thought we played really well. In the first half we should have been more than 1-0 up, should have scored again in the second half to give ourselves a cushion and then shot ourselves in the foot a little bit with a few of the goals that we conceded.
“The sending off hurt us but the overriding emotion is pride in the players, because again they've shown unbelievable character. To come back from 3-1 against a team going for the play-offs and get a point in the last minute, it just shows the spirit that they've got and that's going to be so vital in the next games that we've got left.
“I'm just delighted for the character and the energy and the belief we've got. There's an internal belief that when we have adversity we've got to stick together. In that dressing room they stick together and they need each other and that's a sign of a good squad.”
Wanderers looked set to back up their 5-1 mid-week win over Stevenage when EoinToal headed them ahead early on. But Sam Dalby missed a couple of chances to turn the screw before Town struck three times in 15 minutes early in the second half.
Down to 10 men, the Whites were massively up against it but the in-form Kenny breathed new life into the performance before Cissoko delivered yet another late goal with a stunning finish with only seconds to go.
“It’s easy to lose your composure and give up but this group never do that,” added Schumacher after the 3-3 draw which edged his side closer to a guaranteed top-six finish.
“It would have been easy for everyone to get despondent and the crowd to give in but I don't think the attitude of the players has ever been like that.
“Even when we were two goals behind we were still trying to be positive, still trying to pass the ball. Quite often we were down to nine men, with players not on the pitch, but the players show a brilliant character. And while we've got that character and we've got that belief we know we've got quality in the squad.
“Johnny Kenny’s was another great finish and Ibby’s couldn't have gone much better. I'm so delighted for him. Coming on to play right-back and he puts one in the top corner.
“I knew we'd just stick in and we'd get one big chance, although it wasn't a big chance, it was an unbelievable goal which we've seen our players score from that area all season. I’m so delighted for Ibs. It couldn't have happened to a nicer lad.”
