Steven Schumacher says nothing will change as his side sets their sights on Wembley and a potential step nearer promotion.
Wanderers go to Bradford City tomorrow (Thursday) night with a 1-0 lead in their League One play-off semi-final.
No team in the EFL has drawn more times than Wanderers this season and a 19th stalemate of the season in the second leg would be enough to take Schumacher’s men into a promotion shoot-out with either Stevenage or Stockport County.
But the Wanderers’ boss insists victory at Valley Parade will be the target to try and set up a Wembley final on Sunday-week as he outlined the approach to a big night in West Yorkshire.
“Exactly the same as what we would do if it was all-square,” said the Wanderers’ boss. “We try and be positive – as we have done for the rest of the games – try and get on the front foot, try and take the game to Bradford where we can and see if we can come away with a victory.
“That's been our approach all season, so I don't think it needs to change. We will be positive where we can, understand the threat that Bradford are going to pose us – because they have to come out and try and get us under pressure – but try and stay as calm and composed as possible.
“We know that they're going to have moments of pressure and their crowd are going to try and get behind them and make it difficult for us and make that atmosphere intense.
“So, we need to stay as calm as possible, deal with their moments and secure the ball where we can and get back in control of the game.
"We've been quite consistent the whole season with how we've approached games; just be confident in the ability that we have and if we stick together and we stick to our principles and do all the basics of the game well enough, then we'll be OK. Hopefully we play well enough to get the result that we need to take us to Wembley.”
Bradford have put extra home tickets on sale as they expect their biggest-ever play-off crowd of over 21,000 as they try and keep alive hopes of back-to-back promotions.
Wanderers’ allocation of almost 2,200 tickets disappeared in minutes and Schumacher knows how important the fans will be as the Whites bid to build on the Amario Cozier-Duberry goal they scored in the home leg to take their promotion challenge all the way.
“The recent experience I think is helpful, especially because it was sold out,” added Schumacher, whose side drew 1-1 at Bradford – the second League One draw between the teams this season – at the end of April to guarantee a top-six finish.
“We understand what that looks like when Valley Parade is full, but again there'll be an added intensity to it because of what's at stake.
“It'll be a game that'll be played at a real high tempo, both teams giving 100% and competing against each other like they have in all of the games so far this season, so we're looking forward to it and may the best team win.
“We had a really good following a couple of weeks ago when we were there. We haven't got exactly the same amount of numbers, but I'm sure the noise will still be the same and if we can play as well as we did that day and get another result that'll be similar, then that'll be perfect.”
Johnny Kenny, whose fifth goal in five games at Bradford secured a play-off place, again misses out with a knee injury which the on-loan Celtic striker has learned won’t require surgery. However, midfielder Kyle Dempsey could come back into the picture for the Whites after missing Saturday night’s first leg.
There are no away tickets left for Thursday night's game (KO 8pm) but fans can watch a live screening of the second leg back at the Toughsheet Community Stadium. Screenings are taking place in the Boxoso Premier Suite and the Bolton Wanderers Hotel. Entry is free but by ticket only with all details HERE
