Supporter Information Ahead of Bradford City Play-Off Fixture

fans

Bolton Wanderers would like to issue some important information to our supporters ahead of Thursday’s play-off semi-final second-leg at Bradford City.

Wanderers supporters have played a large part in driving the team to this stage of the season and your backing will again be crucial for Steven Schumacher and the players.

The atmosphere inside the stadium will be intense from the opening whistle and we ask that you support the team loudly and support the team safely.

Ticket information

Supporters are advised that any unwanted tickets for Thursday’s fixture should be returned directly to Bolton Wanderers Ticket Office for resale.

It is an offence under Section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 for unauthorised persons to sell football tickets.

Supporters are advised not to purchase tickets from fellow supporters or social media accounts offering tickets for sale.

Pyrotechnics

Supporters are reminded that possession of a pyrotechnic device inside a football stadium, or attempting to bring one into a stadium, is a criminal offence.

This includes flares, smoke bombs and fireworks.

These offences fall under the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc) Act 1985 and the Football (Offences) Act 1991.

Anyone found in possession of a pyrotechnic device faces the prospect of:

  • Immediate arrest
  • A criminal record
  • Imprisonment
  • A Football Banning Order
  • A long-term club ban

Courts can impose football banning orders lasting several years, preventing attendance at matches across the UK.

Pyrotechnics also present serious danger inside crowded stands. Injuries linked to these devices include burns, breathing difficulties, eye injuries, and hearing damage.

The law does not distinguish between flares, smoke bombs or fireworks. All are treated as illegal items within the context of a football match.

Supporters should also be aware that detection dogs will be in operation at the stadium.

Pitch incursions

Supporters must remain in the stands at all times.

Entering the field of play is illegal and can lead to arrest, prosecution, football banning orders and criminal records.

The club also faces substantial financial penalties where offences occur.

The objective on Thursday is clear. Create the atmosphere. Back the team.

Do it safely and responsibly.

Love Football. Protect The Game.
