Bolton Wanderers can confirm that Andy Taylor has left his role as B Team Head Coach by mutual consent.
Taylor joined Wanderers in January 2024 from AFC Fylde and played an important role in the Club’s player development structure during his time at Lostock.
Before moving into coaching, the former defender made more than 350 senior appearances in a playing career which included spells with Sheffield United, Blackpool, Walsall and Tranmere Rovers.
Following his arrival at Wanderers almost two-and-a-half years ago, he worked closely with the Academy and first-team staff to strengthen the pathway for younger players progressing towards senior football.
Taylor led the B Team in the Central League and Central League Cup and also guided Wanderers to Lancashire Senior Cup success during the 2024/25 campaign, with the young Whites beating Burnley in the final.
Last year, Taylor also stepped into the senior coaching set-up alongside Julian Darby and Andrew Tutte following former manager Ian Evatt’s departure in January, 2025.
The interim staff oversaw League One wins against Huddersfield Town and Northampton Town before Steven Schumacher’s appointment as head coach.
Wanderers’ Sporting Director, Fergal Harkin, said: “Andy made a significant contribution during his time at the Club, bringing valuable experience, high standards and a clear understanding of player development into the role.
“The work carried out with the B Team helped strengthen the link between the Academy and first-team environment and he also handled added responsibility during an important period for the Club last year.
“We thank Andy for his commitment and professionalism and wish him and his family all the best for the future.”
Bolton Wanderers thanks Andy for his efforts during his time with the Club and wishes him success in the next stage of his coaching career.
