Team News | Wrexham v Wanderers

Steven Schumacher arrival Wrexham

George Thomason returns to captain the side as Wanderers bid to reach the semi-finals of the Vertu Trophy.

Thomason is able to play in between his two-match league ban and is one of seven players coming into Steven Schumacher's starting line-up following Saturday’s win over Crawley Town.

Birthday boy Jay Matete also starts with Wanderers – winners of the competition in 2023 – missing the cup-tied trio of Aaron Morley, Joel Randall and Alex Murphy and the suspended Szabi Schön.

Aaron Collins – top scorer in this season’s competition – returns from injury to start on the bench alongside two members of the Whites’ B Team squad.
