TROPHY TEAM NEWS | Wanderers v Port Vale

Player huddle Port Vale Trophy

Boss Steven Schumacher sends out a much-changed side as Wanderers bid to reach the quarter-finals of the Vertu Trophy.

Only Josh Sheehan and Thierry Gale retain their starting spots from Saturday’s League One loss at Peterborough, although it’s still a powerful-looking line-up to take on Port Vale.

Teddy Sharman-Lowe returns after illness kept him out of the squad at London Road and there are also starts for defenders Josh Dacres-Cogley and Chris Forino after spells out of the side.

Port Vale make 10 changes on the back of their FA Cup win over Fleetwood Town – a first game in charge for new boss Jon Brady – and give a start in goal to former Wanderers’ keeper Ben Amos.

Wanderers: Sharman-Lowe, Dacres-Cogley, Forino, Simons, Taylor, Sheehan, Dalby, Gale, Morley, Forss, Christie. Substitutes: Broome, Toal, Cozier-Duberry, Erhahon, Dempsey, McAtee, Burstow.
