Bolton Wanderers are delighted to announce a new three-year deal with the University of Bolton, who become the Club’s official Pitch Sponsor.

Continuing an already long-held relationship which, most recently, saw the University take on the Club’s stadium naming rights from July 2018-July 2023, the higher education institution’s logo will now appear permanently along two sides of Wanderers’ in-stadia pitch.

In addition, the Bolton-based University will take advertising space across the Club’s LEDs and big screens.

Granted University status in 2005 and with a campus based in the heart of the town, the University of Bolton has a global student body of around 11,000 and employs over 900 people.

Amongst a host of educational accolades, the University was most recently rated best in the North West for teaching in the National Student Survey 2023.

Neil Hart, Chief Executive Officer at Bolton Wanderers said: “We are thrilled to continue our long and valued relationship with the University of Bolton for another three years.

“During the Club’s most difficult years, the University's loyal support proved a lifeline for Bolton Wanderers. We are delighted we are now able to renew this partnership from a place of mutual strength and positivity.

“In addition, we are incredibly proud to have such a successful and thriving University in our town and we look forward to the many ways in which we will continue to work together in the coming years."

Professor George E Holmes DL DSc, President and Vice Chancellor of the University of Bolton, said: "The University and BWFC are two of the oldest organisations in Bolton and both are central to the future prosperity of the town and more importantly, to the health and wellbeing of local people.

"The links between our students and the club have always been important. As the University expands its physiotherapist programmes and of course our new medical school, we hope to work closely with the Football Club on fitness and wellbeing.

"The club provides thousands of Boltonians with a weekly injection of leisure time and positivity at the heart of our community. The University of Bolton is proud to have stood with Bolton Wanderers FC through good times and dips. We all have high hopes of another great season and are willing the club to achieve further success.”

Work on the pitch branding will now be undertaken and completed late September/early October.
