‘The Wanderer’ Comes Out Top In Matchday Music Vote!

Supporters

‘The Wanderer’ by Dion DiMucci has been voted as the top choice song to be played ahead of kick-off by Wanderers fans in this week’s matchday music vote!

4,011 votes were cast by supporters in the survey which offered fans the opportunity to select the song they’d like to hear just before the starting whistle blows at this season’s remaining home games.

With a whopping 30.5% of the vote (1,119 votes), The Wanderer was the outright winner, with ‘Campione 2000’ by E-Type coming in second place (631 votes) and ‘Is This The Way To Amarillo’ by Tony Christie the third favourite (478 votes).

Neil Hart, Chief Executive Officer at Bolton Wanderers said: “Thank you to each and every supporter who took the time to vote in our matchday music survey.

“It was a phenomenal response with a clear favourite to played in the minutes before kick-off.

“My thanks to the Bolton Wanderers Supporters’ Trust and wider affiliate supporter groups for their feedback throughout the process.

“We will revisit the subject again in advance of the 2024/25 season but for now it’s over you to – we look forward to hearing you sing The Wanderer loud and proud for the remainder of this season!”

In addition to the new pre kick-off song, updates have been made to the in-stadia LEDs and big screen, with new videos implemented.

Fans will hear the other top voted songs played out in the build up to the game, as well as the new fan playlist that will be introduced from Saturday.

And following numerous requests on social media and in the ‘Other’ section of the music vote, ‘Rockin’ All Over the World’ by Status Quo will be played at full time whenever the team secures a win at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

The club would also like to inform supporters that to further bolster the atmosphere on a matchday, we are exploring options to upgrade the sound system at the stadium. However, due to the scale and complexity of the works, this will not take place until the off season.

We would encourage all supporters attending the fixture tomorrow to enter the turnstiles by 2.30pm and be in their seats by 2.50pm to make the most of the atmosphere and join in the singing.

As ever, we thank you for your outstanding support and we look forward to seeing at the stadium this weekend!
