Bolton Wanderers are proud to have received Family Excellence Status, being handed the silver award by the EFL.
The scheme, introduced in the 2007/08 season, assesses the family experience that clubs provide throughout the Football League. Clubs are rewarded with Gold, Silver and Bronze for the quality of their matchday experience across a range of touchpoints including ticket purchase, matchday entertainment, accessibility, facilities and communications.
EFL clubs received two ‘mystery family’ visits throughout the season, with their feedback and reports determining whether clubs would achieve ‘Family Excellence’ status.
David Ray, Chief Executive Officer at Bolton Wanderers, said:
“We are incredibly proud to receive the EFL Silver Family Excellence Award, which is a reflection of the hard work and dedication shown by our staff and supporters in creating a welcoming, inclusive and enjoyable matchday experience for families at Bolton Wanderers.
“As a football club, we understand the importance of inspiring the next generation of supporters, and we are committed to ensuring that every young fan and their family feels valued when they come to the Toughsheet Community Stadium. This recognition from the EFL is something everyone connected with the club can take great pride in.
“In recent seasons, we have continued to invest in improving the supporter experience through initiatives such as enhancements to our Fan Zones, the introduction of our upgraded Sensory Room and wellbeing facilities, and programmes aimed at welcoming first-time and younger fans to the club. While this award is a fantastic achievement, we are always looking at ways to improve further and build on the standards we have set to ensure Bolton Wanderers remains a great day out for supporters of all ages.”
