Bolton Wanderers held a Wanderers Bond event at the Toughsheet Community Stadium on Friday night, an evening that was filled with positivity, networking and updates surrounding the Football Club.
The event also was an opportunity to celebrate the work of Bolton Wanderers in the Community (BWitC), with over £6000 raised on the night to help support the vital and inspiring work of the club’s charitable arm.
The Wanderers Bond was launched in August 2023 as a way for individuals to play their part in helping to build a sustainable future for Bolton Wanderers, supporting the Football Club with varying levels of investment. More than £4.5 million was invested, indicating further the incredible level of support in the Bond and the Club.
The evening, held in the club’s Lion of Vienna Suite last weekend, commenced with a welcome message from Chairman Sharon Brittan, thanking bondholders for their unwavering support, with a video showcasing the work of BWitC also kickstarting proceedings.
Hosted by Wanderers TV duo Derek Clark and John McGinlay, the pair welcomed Sporting Director Fergal Harkin and Head Coach Steven Schumacher to the stage for a Q&A session.
Fergal and Steven provided the room with deep insight into the Football Department at the club, as they prepare for the new League One season, with Wanderers getting their campaign underway away to Stockport County on Sunday.
The club’s new Chief Executive Officer, David Ray, was also introduced to the room after completing his first week in the role following his arrival from Plymouth Argyle just a few days earlier.
Then, supported by Sharon Brittan, Super John held the evening’s auction to help support Bolton Wanderers in the Community, raising more than £6000 with a number of fantastic prizes and experiences on offer to the room.
Supplemented by a delicious food offering and an opportunity for bondholders to network during the night, the event proved to be a rousing success for all in attendance.
