Steven Schumacher has received the League Manager Association’s Utilita Performance of the Week Award for Wanderers’ outstanding win over League One leaders Birmingham City.
The Whites’ 3-1 victory over a Birmingham side unbeaten in their previous 18 league matches was judged the best performance of the week across the Premier League, the three divisions of the EFL, the Women’s Super League and the Women’s Championship.
The League Managers Association’s voting panel comprises LMA Chairman Martin O’Neill OBE, Sir Alex Ferguson CBE, Chris Hughton, Rachel Yankey OBE, Les Ferdinand MBE, Clare Tomlinson, Jess Creighton, Stuart Pearce MBE and Barry Fry.
Wanderers’ head coach received the award on behalf of his staff and squad at the Whites’ Lostock training ground before setting off to Burton Albion, where Schumacher’s men will be aiming for a seventh win in nine league games to close in on the play-off spots on Saturday.
Schumacher was also short-listed for the League One February manager of the month award but missed out on the prize to Birmingham boss Chris Davies.
