Bolton Wanderers Women are back at The Ginge Power Stadium, Daisy Hill this Sunday, 2pm kick-off, as Crewe Alexandra visit on the back of Wanderers' best result of the season.
Six wins from six and top of the table with the division's best goal difference, this is the form Wanderers want to bring in front of their own supporters.
Sunday's 10-1 win away at FC United of Manchester will take some topping, with Molly Wood scoring five as a lone striker, Lizzie Hamer-Brown adding two, and Lauren Sharples, Faye Stanhope and Ella Tweedle also on the scoresheet. Head coach Tom Cunniff wants that same intensity carried into a very different test against Crewe.
“We've got good depth in this squad and options to manage the group properly,” Cunniff said. “But you don't want to get too complacent, because you can end up regretting it. Every game deserves the right preparation and that won't change this week.”
He was just as measured about the run of results behind it.
“Six from six is a nice number to look at, but it doesn't win us anything on its own. We have to keep learning and improving, not get carried away with where we are.”
Get down to Daisy Hill this Sunday and be part of it. With a month of cup football following on from Crewe, this is the last chance for a while to catch Wanderers Women in league action and the atmosphere from the stands has been a genuine factor in this unbeaten start.
