Wanderers will play their part in honouring the memory of the 56 supporters who lost their lives in the Valley Parade Fire Disaster when they visit Bradford City on Saturday.
City’s annual memorial fixture will see the club mark the 41st anniversary of the disaster, when supporters, players and staff come together to remember the 56 Bradford City and Lincoln City fans who died in the tragedy and the hundreds more who were left with life-changing injuries on May 11, 1985.
Wanderers captain Eoin Toal will join his opposite number in the Bradford side to lay a wreath in the centre of the pitch and players and officials will stand around a large centre-circle flag paying tribute to the 56 lives lost before kick-off.
The Whites’ supporters will then be invited to join a minute’s silence following a reading delivered by City club chaplain pastor Oliver Evans to reflect on the lasting impact of the disaster and the importance of remembering all those who were affected.
