With over 25,000 supporters having already secured their place at the Toughsheet Community Stadium for Saturday's Derby Day fixture against Wigan Athletic, we know that you will back the lads from minute one this weekend.
As we have seen on a number of occasions this season, your support has helped to get points on the board, emphasised most recently against Leyton Orient with a sold out away end roaring the lads on until the very end - rewarded with Amario Cozier-Duberry's late stunner to earn a well-deserved point.
At home, we have seen what your backing can do, with an unbeaten record and superb numbers seen in the stands to help support the performances on-the-field.
With Derby Day now upon us, we know that passion and emotion will be high but we want to ensure that this is channelled positively to ensure the matchday experience is one that is for all.
With this in mind, we would like to remind supporters about the need for responsible behaviour and to reiterate the importance of safety for all fans attending Saturday's game with Wigan Athletic - both home and away.
As with all Bolton Wanderers’ fixtures, any discriminatory behaviour, including the use of racist, homophobic, ableist, sexist and faith-based discrimination, will not be tolerated.
Entering the pitch without permission, drug use, and carrying or using smoke bombs or pyrotechnics are also punishable offences which will attract severe consequences. All have no place in football, or anywhere.
Extra security measures will also be in place to ensure the safety and smooth running of Saturday's fixture, including enhanced security practices implemented on entry into the stadium prior to kick-off (12.30pm).
We understand fully that these behaviours are not representative of the majority of Wanderers' supporters, who we know will support the team in a positive and passionate manner.
If you do however see any behaviour that needs reporting, there are multiple ways to do so:
- Text: 07542 850902 (please include block, row, and seat number where possible).
- Email: safeguarding@bwfc.co.uk
- In-Stadium: Alert your nearest steward immediately. All reports will be treated with the strictest confidence.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Toughsheet Community Stadium, bring the noise on Saturday afternoon and thank you - as always - for your magnificent support.
