Bolton Wanderers Women is delighted to announce the signing of exciting forward Imogen Longcake, who arrives at the club after a spell in Scotland with Partick Thistle.

The former Newcastle and Middlesbrough forward is the latest addition to Myles Smith’s squad, bolstering their attacking options with experience both in Scotland and England at higher levels.

Starting out her footballing career with her hometown club, Carlisle United, Longcake also represented Cumbria and time spent in the North East, combining her love of football with her studies whilst at Northumbria University.

The 25-year old then made the move north of the border in the winter of 2023 when signing with Partick Thistle Women in the top flight of Scotland.

Making 82 appearances and scoring 11 goals during her time at Petershill Park, as well playing her part in Thistle’s first ever Cup Final appearance against Rangers in the Sky Sports Cup, Imogen arrives at Wanderers Women looking to brings goals and assists to the Whites’ forward line.

Imogen now goes straight into the reckoning for Sunday’s game with AFC Fylde on Sunday afternoon, as Wanderers return to Victory Park looking to make it three consecutive league wins.

On signing for Wanderers, Imogen said: “I’m really excited by the project.

“Discussions went on with Myles for a while, and it has been a long process, but I’m really happy to get it sorted and can’t wait to get going.

"The ambitions the club has for the Women’s team aligns with my own personal goals - in terms of making my way up the leagues and I believe I can do that here.

“The way in which the Women’s team is set up, and the facilities on offer here and everything that is involved, is unbelievable and I have been really impressed with everything I have seen.

“I’m a pacy player, who likes to get goals and assists, and I can’t wait to contribute as much as I can and be part of that attacking setup.”

“She is an exciting player with pace and flair that will have everyone on the edge of their seats, and we can’t wait to see what she can potentially offer us both on and off-the-field.
