Women | Semi Final To Take Place At Chorley's Victory Park

challenge cup

Bolton Wanderers Women's Challenge Cup Semi-Final tie against Preston North End Women will take place at Chorley FC's Victory Park on Sunday 16th February (kick-off 2pm).

Wanderers progressed to this stage of the competition having beaten Wigan Athletic Ladies and Girls in the previous round, with Jess Lightfoot and Faye Knox on the scoresheet to secure a 2-0 victory in January.

With the Semi-Final approaching this weekend, the club can confirm that the tie against North End Women will be staged at Victory Park, home of Chorley FC.

Wanderers have played at the home of the Magpies earlier in the season, sweeping aside higher league opposition in the form of Tranmere Rovers in the Alliance Design and Print Cup back in October.

Myles Smith, Women's Manager, said: "Firstly, we have an amazing relationship with Atherton Collieries and they have been brilliant with us throughout this season. That needs to be reiterated as they have been hugely welcoming to us.

"As seen earlier this month, we moved a fixture to Lostock to allow the pitch at the Dreams2Reality Stadium time to breathe, given the number of factors involved including the weather in recent weeks.

"After conversations with the relevant people ahead of this weekend, Sunday's Semi Final will take place at Chorley, with the aim of getting back to winning ways and secure our spot in next month's Final.

"Following the cup tie, we will then work closely with the team at Colls ahead of our game against Penrith at the start of next month to make a return home with our supporters."

Entry on Sunday, as always with Wanderers Women fixtures, will remain free of charge with full details to be confirmed later this week.

We encourage all Wanderers' fans to head down to Chorley this weekend and show their support as we look to secure our place in the Final.
