Bolton Wanderers Women can confirm that Sunday’s league fixture against Blackpool has now been rearranged, with the fixture now taking place behind-closed-doors at Lostock Training Ground on Sunday afternoon, kick-off 1:30pm.

Wanderers were due to host the Seasiders at the Dreams2Reality Stadium on Sunday 2nd February, looking to continue their winning run in the Division One North to cement their place at the top of the table.

However, given recent weather conditions throughout this month - as well as the amount of football played by both Wanderers and Atherton Collieries on the pitch in recent weeks - the decision has been made to play the fixture behind-closed-doors at the training ground on Sunday afternoon, with kick-off brought forward to 1:30pm.

Myles Smith, Women’s Manager said: “It’s been a really difficult job for all grounds staff to try and keep pitches in good condition at this time of year - especially in our case when there are two teams playing on the pitch at Colls at the minute.

“Therefore, we want to try give the pitch there a bit of a break and want to get it right for not only ourselves, but for everyone at Colls, too. From our perspective, there are some very important games coming up so moving this fixture increases the chances of bringing that pitch back to life to protect it in the long-run.

“As a result, we’ve made the decision to move the game to Lostock - and unfortunately this means that we can’t cater for our fanbase to come and watch the game on the weekend and it wasn’t a decision taken lightly. This is because we know how much our supporters mean to us, and the backing they provide has been vital to the team both home and away - and we hope they are there in their numbers against Poulton Vics next weekend.

"However, the most important thing for us is that we have a surface that gives us the best possible chance of getting another positive result on the weekend.”

With the fixture now behind-closed-doors, we kindly ask Wanderers fans not to travel to Lostock and attempt entry on Sunday afternoon, but thank you - as always - for your continued support.

Wanderers Women would like to thank all those involved for their cooperation in allowing this fixture to be re-arranged.

As usual, live match updates will take place from kick-off at 1:30pm, as usual, across Bolton Wanderers Women's official social media channels. These can be found on Facebook, X and Instagram. Post-match reaction will follow the full-time whistle at Lostock.
