Bolton Wanderers Women turn their attention to cup action this weekend as they travel to face AFC Fylde Women in the Lancashire FA Women’s Senior Cup Quarter Final.
The county competition provides an opportunity for silverware away from league commitments, with both sides making an impact in the league it is set to be a closely fought encounter.
Wanderers will be familiar with the challenge posed by Fylde, having already faced the hosts earlier this season. That encounter ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat for Bolton, with little separating the two sides over the 90 minutes. Sunday’s cup tie offers the Whites the chance to respond and keep their Senior Cup hopes alive.
Fylde are coming off a dominating win away at Bury FC last at the start of January, and the Whites fought hard to claim all three points in a 1-0 win against West Didsbury & Chorlton.
Both sides will be looking to get their Lancashire FA Women’s Senior Cup run off to a strong start.
