Women's Preview | FC United V Wanderers

fc united preview

Bolton Wanderers Women travel to Broadhurst Park this weekend, looking to build on their impressive form following a commanding 5-0 victory over Fleetwood Town last time out.

The result came shortly after Tom Cunniff was appointed as First Team Head Coach on a permanent basis, and the team have continued to make strong progress under his leadership. Despite challenging weather conditions, the Whites showed determination and quality throughout, with goals from Abbie Brown (2), Ella Tweedle, Natasha Dale, and Zara Plano securing another valuable three points.

Wanderers will now turn their attention to a familiar opponent, having fallen to a 4-2 defeat against FC United in the previous meeting between the sides. Although Bolton twice threatened a comeback, a late fightback wasn’t enough to change the outcome. This weekend’s fixture provides the perfect opportunity for Wanderers continue their recent momentum.

Both teams head into the game separated only by goal difference, setting up what promises to be a closely contested encounter. FC United have lost just once in their last five outings and come into the match on the back of a 4-2 victory over Curzon Ashton.

Wanderers, meanwhile, will be determined to maintain their winning form and strengthen their position in the table
