Bolton Wanderers Women returned to winning ways on Sunday afternoon with a ruthless and emphatic 11-1 victory over Blackpool in the Division One North.

Goals from Grace Grundy (3), Madison Hardman (2), Eleanor Seals (2), Faye Knox (2) and Eboni Bradshaw - along with an own goal - emphasised Wanderers' dominance on a sun-soaked afternoon at AFC Blackpool.

The result keeps the Whites' lead and place at the top of the league table and starts the run of four consecutive away games ahead the Challenge Cup Final in April.

Myles Smith made three changes from the side that drew with Penrith last weekend, with Maisy Mitchell, Emme Shone and Hardman coming into the starting side. Grace Grundy was named amongst the substitutes also - her first involvement in a matchday squad this season.

With the messaging from the coaching staff still ringing in their ears, Wanderers flew out the blocks early and could have opened the scoring inside the opening few minutes, with Bradshaw presented with two early opportunities.

The first was looking to latch onto a through ball that was just cut out by a Pool defender, before being denied from close range by Libby Hall in the Tangerine goal.

But Wanderers kept up the early pressure and didn't have to wait long to open the scoring. Bradshaw turned provider with a superb cross in from the right and Hardman was on-hand to apply a fantastic first-time finish to give the away side the advantage.

The opening goal gave the Whites, and Hardman leading the line, added confidence and were well in their groove as the game approached the 20-minute mark.

The striker went in search of another shortly after when being picked out brilliantly by Neishai Gordon after tenacious work allowed her to beat a challenge of a Blackpool defender and thread a ball through, but Madi's effort was rising and flew over the bar.

Hardman was in the mood for more, and she got it with a deft left-footed finish minutes later. Shone, operating in the middle of the park for Wanderers from the start, picked out the forward with a brilliant ball to split the Blackpool defence and find Hardman, who finished coolly into the bottom corner.

It was a wave of attack after attack, and Myles Smith's side were moving the ball nicely and being patient  in search of more opportunities. Their third goal came just before the half hour mark, as Eleanor Seals got onto the scoresheet.

The central midfielder drove down-field and let fly with an effort from outside the penalty area, with the powerful strike proving too much for Hall and firing into the roof of the net.

With the upper hand secured in the fixture, the task for Wanderers now was to be relentless in their approach and to stick to the plan that had secured their early advantage.

This continued to be the case - with Chloe Ardin being introduced in the first half in place of Gordon - as Seals grabbed her second of the afternoon. Taking aim with another driven effort after being afforded space outside the area, Eleanor's strike was drilled superbly into the bottom corner, offering the keeper no chance.

There was still time for Wanderers to make it five before the break as the ever-impressive Bradshaw got herself amongst the scorers.

Seals' role of goal scorer had turned to goal assister as her first-time cross from a recycled corner was on the money, and Eboni's first-time strike - like Hardman's opener - was brilliant and found its way past Hall to hand Wanderers a commanding lead at the break.

The Whites came out for the second half on the hunt for more goals, and it took just two minutes for them to make it six.

Hardman's relentless running in the channels proved fruitful once again, and a drilled cross across goal was turned into their own net by a Blackpool defender with Whites' attackers waiting to apply the needed touch.

With the heat and weather continuining, Wanderers started to introduce fresh legs into the game, with Lily Barnes, Millie Smith and Hannah Baldwin all brought on - with the aim of continuing a performance of dominance.

Despite this, Blackpool responded well in the second half and got themselves on the scoresheet through Tia Jameson. An Emily Brennan free-kick was tipped nicely onto the bar by Annabelle White, but Jameson reacted quickest to turn home the rebound to give the hosts a goal their continued endeavour deserved.

With that, the Whites went back on the front foot - and with Grundy brought onto the field for her first minutes of the season - the debutant added to Wanderers' tally within minutes.

An outstanding run down the left-hand side drove her past the Blackpool defender, allowing her to burst into the penalty area and superbly finish to brilliant celebrations from both her teammates and travelling Wanderers' supporters.

The scoring continued five minutes later as Faye Knox was next to add her name to the Whites' tally from the penalty spot. Ardin, who saw lots of the ball in the second half and was typically efficient and effective throughout, went past her defender before being brought down inside the area. Knox picked up the ball and converted confidently from the spot.

The game ticked into its final minutes, with a prolonged period of added time due to an injury stoppage in the second half, and it gave Wanderers time to add three more goals.

First, Ardin's low cross from the left-hand side picked out Grundy superbly and she clinically finished with her left foot to grab her second, before sealing a dream debut hat-trick with an outstanding finish from the edge of the area as the ball broke nicely for her to hit to make it 10.

With Grace's hat-trick secured, Wanderers still had time to add one more as Knox added a second penalty - her 19th of the season - after a typically mazy run to dance past her defender got her into the area before being brought down.

With another superbly taken penalty, Knox completed the scoring as Wanderers emphatically responded to their first dropped points of the campaign the week before.
