Biography

Annabelle White began playing football at the age of eight after attending girls’ sessions with Bolton Wanderers Community Trust.

With no team available for her age group at the time, one of the coaches introduced her to Oxford Grove, where she began playing before later joining Bolton Wanderers Girls.

Annabelle spent four years in the Wanderers pathway before moving to Blackburn Rovers Under-21s, where she also had the opportunity to train with the first team.

While at Blackburn, she needed senior game time and the chance arose to return to Bolton on a dual signing. Having already experienced the club’s pathway and coaching environment, Annabelle was determined to make the move happen.

After that season, the opportunity came to join Wanderers permanently. With an existing connection to the club and belief in the project being built, it was an easy decision for Annabelle, who saw Bolton as somewhere she could continue developing for the long term.

There have already been several significant moments along the way. As part of the team, Annabelle counts winning the league with Bolton at the club’s home ground among her proudest memories, describing the feeling of achieving something alongside teammates she had worked with throughout the season as unforgettable.

On an individual level, being named Bolton’s Player of the Season at the end of the 2025/26 campaign holds particular significance. As a Wanderers supporter herself, representing the club and then receiving that recognition was something she had never imagined.

Annabelle has also captained Bolton Wanderers Under-16s to victory in the Lancashire County Cup and represented Greater Manchester County at Under-16 level.

A composed and brave goalkeeper with strong distribution, Annabelle is comfortable with the ball at her feet and enjoys playing out from the back, seeing herself as an additional defender when her team is in possession.

Her ambitions are to help Wanderers continue climbing through the tiers while competing for as many leagues and trophies as possible.

Get to know Annabelle

Zach Clough was Annabelle’s footballing idol growing up. Although not a goalkeeper, he was a Bolton player she particularly enjoyed watching during her childhood.

One of her earliest memories as a supporter came at the age of five, watching Bolton beat Wigan 3-1.

Away from playing, Annabelle enjoys socialising with friends, taking part in other sports and, unsurprisingly, watching Wanderers.

She also works for Bolton Wanderers in the Community and coaches goalkeepers at CPS Academy.

There is another Bolton connection supporters might not know about. Several years ago, when the club ran half-time penalty shootouts for primary schools, Annabelle would regularly be the goalkeeper.
