Maddie Leigh began playing football at the age of 11 with her local boys’ side, Leyland Albion.
She remained with the club through to Under-16 level while also being dual-registered with Chorley FC Women, before joining AFC Fylde for the 2025/26 season.
During the second half of that campaign, Maddie joined Bolton Wanderers on loan. The experience proved an important one, with the passion shown by both the players and staff convincing her that Wanderers was somewhere she wanted to remain.
Already playing senior football at a young age, Maddie considers competing at Tier 5 level at the age of 16 to be the biggest achievement of her career so far.
Able to operate at centre-back or left-back, she describes herself as a hard-working player.
