Lizzy Hamer-Brown began playing football at the age of seven with Rochdale, before going on to represent the University of Manchester, Burnley, Stockport and Chorley.
Some of the proudest moments of her career came during her time with Burnley, where she was part of a side that won back-to-back league titles and promotions, climbing from Tier 5 to Tier 3.
Her route to Wanderers came with a little help from Molly Wood, who Lizzy jokes simply would not stop pestering her until she joined. Having already played alongside a number of the Bolton squad, Lizzy was interested in coming down to the club and quickly felt at home after hearing positive things about the set-up and receiving a warm welcome from the staff and players.
A creative and hard-working midfielder, Lizzy can operate across midfield and in attacking positions. She identifies creating goals for the team as one of her biggest strengths.
Her ambitions with Wanderers are to help the team win the league and progress as far as possible in the cup competitions.
Lizzy’s sporting achievements are not limited to football either, having also represented the North West in cross country.
Get to know Lizzy
Michael Owen was Lizzy’s footballing idol growing up, while one of her favourite memories as a supporter is watching Rochdale play at Wembley.
Away from football, Lizzy enjoys spending time with family and friends, going on holiday and escaping for weekends in her mini caravan pod.
She also has a very different career away from the pitch, working as a Solution Architect for IBM. As Lizzy explains it, where a traditional architect designs buildings, she designs computer systems.
Her pre-match soundtrack of choice is Swedish House Mafia.
And something Wanderers supporters might not expect? Lizzy has a Computer Science degree – a world away from life on the football pitch.
