Faye Stanhope started playing football at the age of 10 with Rainhill United, where she remained through to Under-16 level.
Her development also included spells with Hesketh Colts and Formby at youth level before she progressed into senior football with Mossley Hill and Chorley.
Faye enjoyed notable success during her time with Formby, helping the side win both the Manchester League and a national girls’ football tournament, where she was also named Player of the Tournament.
She later went on to represent Chorley and counts helping the club to a third-place finish in the National League among the proudest achievements of her career so far.
A winger on either flank, Faye describes herself as fast, direct and hard-working. She particularly enjoys taking defenders on and identifies one-versus-one situations as her biggest strength.
Her ambition with Wanderers is straightforward – to help the team win the league.
Get to know Faye
Roberto Firmino was Faye’s footballing idol growing up, with his unselfish style of play and quality on the pitch making him a player she particularly admired.
Her favourite memories as a supporter include watching Liverpool win the league and Champions League, as well as attending a Merseyside derby and seeing Virgil van Dijk score a late winner.
Away from football, Faye enjoys heading out for walks in the countryside.
She also combines playing football with studying Physiotherapy at the University of Liverpool.
And something Wanderers supporters might not know? Before focusing on football, Faye competed in gymnastics until the age of 10.
