Kyle Dempsey has looked lively since coming onto the field. He cuts back inside onto his right and tries a curling effort towards goal, but Zych is safe behind the effort.

Fresh on the field, Kyle Dempsey lets fly from the free-kick from all of 30 yards, but it comes off the woodwork at pace and away from danger.

Almeida Santos pings a ball out to Matheson on the right hand side. He fires a ball through bodies across the six yard box, but evades all Wanderers' attackers inside the area.

A poor corner is cleared and Villa U21s break down-field 4-on-2, the ball finds Brannigan to hit first time with his left but it's straight at Hutchinson. A big chance for the away side.

Whole of this second half has been camped in Villa's half, but we've yet to breakthrough. Lovely ball from George Thomason released Randell Williams down the left - who crossed first time - but Villa clear for a corner.

A driving run from Aaron Collins centrally creates a brilliant opening with a lovely reverse pass that almost releases McAtee one-on-one with Zych, but Amundsen-Day comes across brilliantly to barge him off the ball and neutralise any potential danger.

A first time Williams cross from the left is on the money, forcing Barnes at full stretch to get a touch on it. His clearance - looking to turn behind for a corner - just gets there but came close to brushing the side netting with Zych nervously looking over his shoulder.

Flow of the game restarts in the same manner of the first, with Wanderers seeing all of the ball and trying to break down the Villa defence. 

Lolos was slipped in down the right flank, and tried to find McAtee first time with a low cross but it's cleared at the near post.

Wanderers continue to knock at the door, but Oliwier Zych has answered every question asked of him tonight.

A deflected Matheson cross is flicked goalwards by John McAtee, but Zych reacts quickly to turn the ball away from goal.

Another Luke Matheson cross causes problems, forcing Zych to only palm out back into danger. 

The ball falls nicely for Jay Matete to hit first time, but the Villa 'keeper scrambles quickly to make another smart save.

Looking for an immediate response and we go close through Aaron Collins.

Almeida Santos finds Matheson on the right flank. A lovely ball from Luke finds Aaron on the charge, who takes a touch and shoots from the edge of the area, but Zych makes another good save to push the effort over.

Still no breakthrough, but a nice set move from a corner between McAtee, Collins and Matheson opens it up for Randell Williams to be found unmarked, but he drags his effort wide.

Wanderers, through John McAtee, almost opens up a huge chance for us. Randell Williams feeds the ball into him for a one-two, with the forward cleverly turning the ball around the corner to follow the run of Williams, but a last-ditch Villa tackle denies Randell from shooting.

The U21 away side remain committed to playing out from the back, with Wanderers pressing high and, led by McAtee and Collins, have won possession in dangerous areas. However, they have yet to carve out any real opportunity.
