Lolos | I Will Keep Striving To Get Better

New recruit Klaidi Lolos is hungry to keep climbing his upward career path after making the move to Wanderers, writes Pete Oliver.

Lolos has joined the Whites from Crawley Town after a stand-out season with the League Two side he helped win promotion from League Two last season.

The versatile forward player scored 13 league goals as the Red Devils took the division by storm to go up via the play-offs.

Crawley’s Wembley success made it back-to-back promotions for Lolos after his goals also helped Oxford City to play-off success in National League South 12 months previously.

And the 23-year-old hopes there’s more to come after impressively bouncing back from an exit at Plymouth Argyle three years ago.

“I was young and naive back then when I was first in the League,” admitted Wanderers’ third summer signing, who also spent time in the National League at Torquay United after leaving Home Park.

“I did take what I had for granted and once it did get taken away from me I sort of told myself it's now or never. So, I gave it all I had and from then on up until now it has gone well and I will keep striving to get better and better.

“The older you get, the wiser you get, and more experienced. Hopefully I can make it a hat-trick and get another promotion under my belt. That would be amazing.

“Bolton have got so close a couple of times in a row. Unfortunately it didn't happen but hopefully this year is the year, so let's make it happen.”

Lolos scored 15 times in total last season and found the net eight times in 12 games - including a burst of five in six – during the run-in as Crawley soared up the table to reach the play-offs.

An exciting dribbler with the ball – who is both creative and productive in front of goal – Solos will now go into League One with Wanderers after signing a three-year deal at the Toughsheet Stadium.

And he will be looking to stay on a roll after linking up with the Whites on the flight to Portugal for the start of their week-long training camp today.

“I'm looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and the whole experience. I can't wait to get going,” Lolos told Wanderers TV.

“When I found out from my agent that Bolton were interested I only had one thing on my mind and that was getting the deal done as soon as possible and getting underway, so I'm grateful.

“It's a step forward. I back myself to hopefully go well and I'll give it 100 per cent. It was a very good season that we had last year with Crawley, of course, getting promoted at Wembley.

“It was exciting. I found my rhythm quite late on in the season, especially, and as soon as I scored one, another one came and another one came. It was a good end to the season and we were proud of what we achieved. To win at Wembley was an unbelievable feeling and I want to experience it again.”
