PRE-SEASON PREVIEW | Shrewsbury Town v Wanderers

preview

Wanderers hit the road for the final time in pre-season when they head to Shrewsbury Town tonight (KO 7pm).

Steven Schumacher’s side faces the Shrews – relegated from League One last season – in their penultimate warm-up game with just Saturday’s visit of Preston North End to come ahead of the big League One kick-off.

It’s been a productive pre-season for Wanderers, so far, with three wins and a draw against a variety of opposition and just one goal conceded in an opening training-ground game against Tranmere Rovers.

An impressive 2-0 win at Scottish Premier League side Hibernian last Saturday brought the most complete performance yet, while Schumacher continues to spread the game time across his squad.

The Whites have also bedded in a number of new faces, with one of the summer recruits – winger Amario Cozier-Duberry – getting a fine first goal for the club in the victory at Easter Road.

Schumacher is still keen to strengthen his squad – with further striking reinforcements among the targets on his shopping list – and will be hoping to see his players take another step forward at the Croud Meadow where he enjoyed a first away win as Wanderers’ recently-installed Head Coach in February.

Wanderers will again be wearing their new 2025/26 home strip which is available to pre-order HERE

Unfortunately, there will be no live stream of tonight’s game. Any goals and post-match interviews will be available, as usual, post-match via our social media channels.
